O&P Education Programs

There are several O&P education programs in the U.S. that prepare students to serve as practitioners, pedorthists, assistants, fitters, or technicians. Practitioners have three educational pathways from which to choose before they complete their residency and become certified by the American Board for Certification (ABC). Assistants and fitters have two pathways to qualify to become registered by ABC.
